The next destination we visited was
Strasbourg, the capital of Alsace and the second most visited tourist city in France, after Paris. This picturesque town is known for its half-timbered houses, charming canals and good food. It's also one of my favourite places to visit during my Europe trip!
Strasbourg Cathedral, the second most visited French cathedral after Notre Dame de Paris, is located at the heart of the Old Town. At 142 metres, it was the tallest building in the world from 1647 to 1874 and currently, it is the sixth-tallest church in the world. Besides, this Gothic masterpiece is also the home to one of the world's largest astronomical clocks.

I had breakfast in a French cafe right outside of the cathedral. There's nothing more delightful than spending the morning enjoying French crepes, relaxing while people-watching outside of the Cathédrale de Notre Dame of Strasbourg.

Every corner of this historic town is absolutely beautiful! We spent our day strolling along the cobbled streets, watching ducks and swans swim by the river and enjoying the stunning views of the town.
Near the cathedral is a tourist packed street of local cuisine restaurants, cafes, and souvenir shops -
Rue du Maroquin.

A few metres up the street is
Place du Marche aux Cochons de Lait aka The Suckling Pig Market Square.

There are also canals in Strasbourg where you can take cruise tours that bring you around the city for sightseeing. We walked along the canals, enjoying the cool spring air and the lovely sights of the city filled with green trees and blooming flowers.

We had late lunch at a local restaurant and then headed to our next stop, Brussels, Belgium.
