50 Gram X Swanicoco Show The Velvet Lipstick - Juliet Red

Bullet lipsticks are my favourite now. I used to prefer liquid lipsticks because I felt that they were much more long lasting and pigmented. But now, they keep coming up with new formulas and there are so many good bullet lipsticks that have good colour payoff, last the whole day, aren't drying and they're super easy to apply. I recently tried Swanicoco's Show The Velvet Lipstick in the shade Juliet Red, and it just made me love the traditional bullet lipsticks even more!

If you've never heard of Swanicoco before, they are South Korea's hottest brand in 2018 and one of the top natural cosmetics company which started out their business by selling naturally fermented soaps. They focus on producing products from natural ingredients rather than artificial chemicals. Swanicoco uses grains, fruits, vegetables, and Korean medicinal herbs as ingredients for fermentation, and integrates biotechnology into eco-friendly natural components to help improve the skin. Besides, 80% of their cosmetics use fermented extracts instead of purified water. The brand does not use any harmful ingredients such as dyes, parabens, alcohols etc, they try their best to use only natural and fermented extracts in order to provide products that are safe and healthy for the skin.

Swanicoco's Show The Velvet Lipstick - Black Edition just launched in Malaysia. Currently, they only released one shade - Juliet Red and you can only get it from 50Gram for now as they're the first company to launch this product. There are two other shades in this series, Shine Orange and Pink Blossom which haven't been released yet but they will be coming soon. The lipsticks in this series have very vivid shades and are supposed to be moisturising for the lips due to the carnauba wax and natural oils they contain. Only a limited amount of the lipstick is being sold, so once it's sold out, there's no more restocking.

The lipstick casing is a simple black sturdy plastic with a smooth matte surface. The cap is quite unique, instead of the typical pull-to-open, you have you twist the cap before you can pull it out. That way, you won't have to worry about your lipstick cap falling out by accident and staining your things in your bag. It's also very small and light, pretty convenient to carry around.

Juliet Red is a bright orangey-red colour. I know many people would think that this colour is too bright to wear for a normal day-out and would only wear this to a girls night out or to a fancy dinner but I wouldn't mind wearing this out on a regular day (except to school ofc). It's a super fun and vibrant colour but it doesn't go very well with every look because of the hint of orange in the shade.

Another way you can wear this shade if you don't want to stand out with your bright lip colour is to just dab the lipstick lightly on your lips until you get your desired amount of red/pink. You can also do the Korean gradient lip colour with this lipstick easily because it's super creamy and easy to blend.

I got this much colour with only one light swipe on the back of my hand. It's super creamy and the product just glides off really easily.
My experience:

The formula of this lipstick is buttery, making it very smooth to apply on to the lips. It has a satin to matte finish which doesn't emphasise too much on the lip lines. Thanks to the natural moisturising ingredients it contains, this lipstick doesn't dry out the lips and adds moisture instead. However, if you're only dabbing a little product on your lips to get a sheer coverage, it feels a little drier. Besides, it's also lightweight and doesn't feel too sticky and uncomfortable. It's not fully transfer-proof, but it doesn't leave an obvious lip stain on my glass after  I drink. I love how it's super long lasting, I didn't have to reapply even after having a plate of oily aglio olio and after 12 hours of wearing it, the colour is still pretty intense though it does look a bit uneven and patchy. But, it also means removing it can be a bit of a trouble, I had to rub pretty hard to get if off completely even with makeup remover. Another thing to love about this lipstick is the rosey scent, but the smell fades a while after you apply it on your lips.

Overall, I really like Swanicoco's Show the Velvet Lipstick in Juliet Red mainly because of how pretty the colour is, and how it's so moisturising and long lasting. Other than it being difficult to remove, I think this lipstick is amazing! It's priced at RM88.85 (after 10% off) and as I mentioned earlier, it's only available to purchase from 50Gram (nationwide delivery available) for now using this link. Since it's limited edition, you will have to sign up before you get your own product link to purchase. Oh and did I forget to mention that you can also win yourself a free lipstick or even a free 2D1N villa stay by referring to your friends with your own referral link (that will be given when you sign up)?! The more you refer, the more points you collect which can unlock further discounts and give you a greater chance to win goodies!
