Top Rides in Everland in South Korea

Everland is Korea's largest theme park and a must-go for adrenaline junkies as it houses the world's fourth steepest wooden roller coaster - T Express. They also have diverse attractions available for all ages, it's suitable for everyone even if you're not a fan of roller coasters or if you wanna bring your kids there.

The one-day ticket costs KRW54,000 for adults, KRW46,000 for teenagers and KRW43,000 for kids and seniors. You can get them from the ticketing counter, or save some bucks and avoid the queue by booking them online here which includes a roundtrip transfer and of course, an Everland one-day pass ticket. The shuttle bus picks up from Hongdae, Myeongdong, or Dongdaemun.

Entrance
Getting there by yourself can be quite a hassle but the two most common ways are by the subway or by bus. If you want to take the subway, get to Jeondae-Everland Station (Yongin EverLine) and leave at Exit 3 then take the shuttle bus to Everland (opens 5.30am - 11.30pm).  If you decide to go by bus, you can take these buses:
1. Sinnonhyeon, Gangnam, Yangjae Stations: Bus 5002
2. Pangyo, Segok-dong, Suseo, Songpa, Jamsil, Gangbyeon Stations: Bus 5700
3. Sadang, Nambu Terminal Stations (via Bundang and Gwangju): Bus 1500-2
4. Gangbyeon, Gangdong Stations (via Gwangju): Bus 1113

It's best to go during a non-holiday weekday to avoid the crazy crowds and be there as early as you can to save queue time for your first few rides. Be sure to check out the opening hours before you get to the attraction and realise it's not opened yet! We did queue for a ride 30 minutes before they were opened as the queue was still short and it might get much longer later.

Here are my favourite attractions and rides in Everland which you shouldn't miss too:

Amazon Express

This is the first ride we took when we entered. It's similar to USS's Jurassic Park ride except that they have plastic covers on the seats to prevent its visitors from getting wet. If you've never been to USS, this is something like a rafting ride that takes you through a jungle with rapid current. This might not be very fun for people seeking for more thrilling rides but if you have the time and the queue isn't that long you should give it a try.

Lost Valley

This is a safari ride that takes visitors on a safari adventure with an open-air amphibious vehicle while the local worker explains and shows us each animal in a very cute way so kids would be interested (in Korean of course). We got to see many animals up close such as goats, elephants and zebras. They also slowed down in the giraffe area so they could show us how they feed them.

Rolling X Train

This ride has two complete 360 degrees loop-to-loop sections. Though it is very thrilling, it's only a very short ride which lasts about a minute or even lesser so if the queue is too long it might not be worth to go.

Let's Twist

This ride twists and rotates back and forth while having their rock n' roll songs on full blast. It is quite scary to have your feet dangling while you're being thrown around in the air. The ride is pretty long so it'll be worth it to queue for so long. It is located in American Adventure, right next to the Rolling X Train.

Fireworks Show

Everland hosts firework shows every night and it's the best one I've ever seen (maybe because I never stayed until the end for fireworks at theme parks). They had a short skit played by people in animal mascots before they start putting out the fireworks but they were in Korean so we could only guess what they meant by their actions. They start at 9.30pm but it's better to go earlier to the Four Seasons Garden where the show is held to get a good spot for the best view. Stay for the show if you have the chance to, it's definitely something you won't wanna miss!

Sky Cruise / Sky Way

Getting to American Adventure from European Adventure can take a long time and use up a lot of energy if you're walking especially during summer. Save some of that energy for more rides and take the Sky Cruise or Sky Way. You'll also get a nice view of the theme park from up there. Even though there may be a long queue but don't worry since it moves pretty quickly.

Columbus Adventure

This is the "Pirate Ship" ride that every theme park has. Columbus Adventure falls from a height of 33 meters, at a 75-degree angle. Although not a thrilling as the one in Sunway Lagoon which turns 360 degrees, but it was still a fun ride, plus it won't take longer than 10 minutes to wait for your turn since they can fit so many people at once.

Panda World

Panda World is located in Zoo Topia and it is the only place you'll get to see pandas in South Korea. This was my first time seeing real life pandas and they're so much more adorable when you see them with your own eyes! The cute panda couple, Ai Bao and Le Bao were just being pandas and lazying around when we visited. One of them was just lying still on its stomach it took us quite some time to find it. Spot the pandas:

T Express

This ride is located in the European Adventure section and is visible almost everywhere in the theme park. It was the highlight of my visit, I even went on it TWICE because that's just how thrilling it was! It was about an hour and 10 - 15 minutes wait but definitely worth it as the ride was much longer than the usual 1 minute roller coaster rides.  Not only it's the world's fourth steepest wooden roller coaster, it is also the world's ninth fastest, fourth tallest, and sixth longest wooden coaster. Its steepest slope is at 77 degrees I could literally feel myself floating away from my seat when it was going down!

That's all for my list of top rides to take in Everland! Hope you have fun too during your visit to Everland.
