One of the keys to getting a clear skin is to clean your face properly. Throughout the day, dirt, pollutants, excess oil and bacteria build up on your skin. It is important to get rid of them by washing your face daily and by using the right skincare products to cleanse deeper where these unwanted nasties hide.
Formula 10.0.6 is a brand that focuses on helping their consumers to get clear skin. They target skin concerns of young people and they have a wide range of skincare products such as cleansers, masks, moisturisers and so on. Their products contain a mix of natural botanical ingredients which have been proven to be effective. You may have heard of this brand in Malaysia as they currently have 16 products here, including 4 new masks which have just launched.
Recently, I tried out some of their products which are So Totally Clean, Draw It All Out Peel Mask and Total Take Away Bubble Mask. Read on to learn more about what they do for your skin and how I feel about them!
So Totally Clean Micellar Cleansing Water
RM39.90 || 200ml
This is an alcohol-free everyday cleanser plus toner which is suitable for sensitive skin. It helps to clean away your impurities and reduce oiliness on your skin. One of the main ingredients is sea kelp which helps to clear dirt, sebum and other unpleasantness off your skin. It also contains chamomile which helps to refine your pores and minimise shine. This product will make your skin feel soothing and refreshing thanks to the cucumber ingredient. This cleansing water is light and gentle, you don't have to rinse it off after using.
The product is a greenish-turquoise colour liquid and it comes in a simple transparent plastic bottle. It is a pretty big bottle, not very travel friendly but I don't mind it because there is quite a lot of product in there.
To use this, apply the cleansing water onto a cotton pad and wipe over your skin. If you're using makeup, you might have to use more than one cotton pad. After your face is clean and fresh, you can move on to the next steps of your skincare routine. For best results, use it daily for both your morning and evening routine.
My experience:
I use this cleansing water in the morning to clear off excess oil accumulated over the night. It removes makeup pretty well but I do have some trouble removing off my eyeliner and mascara sometimes. I need to use quite a lot of product to get it cleaned off completely. It makes my skin feel a little sticky so I have to keep patting on my skin for it to absorb before I can move on to my next skincare. It has a refreshing cucumber scent that I can still smell on my skin even after applying other products.

| I used the first cotton to wipe off until I couldn't see any makeup left, then I used a new dry cotton to wipe my arm. Still not completely clean even if I couldn't see anything left. Took about 3-4 swipes with the cleansing water to get my arm completely clean. |
Draw It All Out Peel Mask (NEW!)
RM39.90 || 100ml
This is a peel-off mask that helps to draw out dirt from your clogged pores. The two main ingredients are bamboo charcoal and wild plum. Bamboo charcoal detoxifies your pores, gently exfoliates your skin and absorbs impurities while wild plum helps to nourish and moisturise the skin.
The product is a gooey thick black gel and it's quite sticky so you'll have to be careful when squeezing it out to prevent it from being messy. It comes in a black tube packaging which makes it spill proof and hygienic.
To use this, squeeze some product on your hand and apply onto your clean and dry skin evenly. Wait about 10-15 minutes for the mask to dry up then peel it off starting from your jaw line. Rinse your face with water and you're ready for the next step of your skincare routine! Use this 1-3 times a day on alternate days.
My experience:
I use this product all over my face but you can choose to only apply it over problem areas such as your T-zone. Application was a little messy for me because the product is sticky and it's quite difficult to get it to spread evenly on my skin. There is a slight cooling sensation right after putting it on my face. It does't make my face feel stiff or uncomfortable while I wait for it to dry. Once it dries up, the mask feels super smooth like plastic and when I peel it off it becomes this elastic rubbery solid. It's easy to peel off from the jaw line and it doesn't hurt even though it does pull my skin a little. I always don't get a clean peel and I still have to wash the leftovers off with water after that but it comes off pretty easily. After washing my face feels soft and smooth but I still haven't noticed any long term improvements in my skin. It has a very familiar scent which I still can't think of what yet LOL I don't love it but I also don't hate it.

Total Take Away Bubble Mask (NEW!)
RM49.90 || 75ml
This is a cleansing face mask that bubbles up after you apply it on your face. The bubbles will take away the dirt and other impurities off your face , leaving you with a clean and purified skin. One of the main ingredients is Rhassoul clay which helps to clean your pores. It also has green tea which acts as an antioxidant for your skin. Other key ingredients are kaolin, bentonite, and natural moisturising ingredient derived from sugar beet molasses.
The product has a soft creamy texture and it spreads out easily into a thin layer, which will start to turn into foam after few seconds. It comes in a tube with a pump, which I'm not a fan of because it is quite difficult to press on the pump when it has a soft body. I also noticed that some of the product will leak out a while after I use it and form bubbles inside the cap which looks really messy.
To use this, just pump out the product on your hand and apply evenly on slightly damp skin. Wait about 2-5 minutes for the mask to foam up completely then wash it off with water. Use this 1-3 times a week in place of your regular cleanser.
My experience:
I use this bubble mask twice a week to clean my skin. It has a ticklish sensation when it's bubbling which lasts about two minutes. When rinsing it off with water, it turns into a milky texture which can be washed off easily. I love how it makes my skin feel soft and fresh after I wash it off and it doesn't give my skin the squeaky feeling which some cleansing products give. It also has a nice scent which stays even after I've rinsed it off.
Overall, I think these products are very easy and fun to use and incorporating them into your skincare routine can help you get closer to achieving a clean and clear skin.
