I've never read any reviews online about Bath & Body Works products because I didn't think I would ever buy them. I think of them as a luxury bath and body brand since they are pretty expensive here in Malaysia probably due to tax and shipping. The price of their products here in Malaysia is almost twice the price in the US. Normally whenever I pass by their shop in the malls I would just go in, smell their products and then leave LOL. Last week when I visited, they were having a buy 2 free 1 promotion for selected products. I felt that it was calling me to buy and so I did (I have very poor self-control im sorry).
After going around the shop smelling almost all of their products, I decided to purchase the Rose Ultra Shea Body Cream and Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte Jelly Body Scrub, with Violet Plum Shower Gel for the free product. Read on to know what I think about them!
Rose Ultra Shea Body Cream (RM90)
This rose scented body cream is supposed to instantly nourish your skin and keep it moisturised for 24 hours, making it feel noticeably softer. It claims to provide beautiful fragrance and all day all night hydration. The product comes in a pretty rose printed tube. It's quite a big tube which contains 226g of product.
First of all, I really love the scent of this body cream. It doesn't smell like rose, but it has a very nice floral scent. I use it at night, the scent stays on my body all night and I can smell it even hours after applying it on my body. My room actually smells like the body cream ever since I started using it! However, I'm not sure what ingredients they use for the strong scent since fragrances in beauty/body products can be harmful for the skin.
I never had the habit of applying body lotion/cream so I have quite dry skin especially on my legs. I'm not sure for people with less dry skin, but when I applied this on my body, I could instantly feel my skin moisturised. It's super hydrating for me like how it claims, it makes my skin super soft and smooth that I can't stop touching my body!
When I bought this I thought this would be a very oily night-time-only body cream because of the name "ultra shea" which sounds oily to me (because shea reminds me of shea butter and butter is oily). I was surprised when I first applied and it was not greasy at all, I thought I didn't apply enough. Even after applying many layers, it gets absorbed in my skin really well. I could use it for day time too but my skin still feels soft and smooth the next morning so I don't think it's necessary to apply it twice a day.
One special thing about this product, it didn't mention anything about soothing itches but it does a pretty good job in stopping my legs from itching sometimes (whenever I got flea bites from my cat~)
Violet Plum Shower Gel (RM68)
This shower gel is from the same floral series as the Rose Body Cream. It's made to leave you with a softer and cleaner skin after you shower and give you a floral, fruity scent. It's main ingredients are Vitamin E and shea butter which makes your skin feel fresh and clean. It comes in a pretty bottle packaging containing 295ml of product.
I usually just use body shampoos from supermarkets that are like RM30 for one big bottle and for this, you really don't get a lot of product in one bottle for that price. But, when I first used this, it was the first time I actually truly enjoyed taking my shower. The scent of the product is amazing, it has a sweet fruity and floral smell (just like how they described it!) and it has great staying power, I could still smell it when I'm outside but it's very faint so I don't think other people can smell it too. Now I can smell the beautiful scent of violet and plum every time I go to my bathroom.
I like how this shower gel lathers into foam very well and it makes my skin feel super smooth. After washing myself my skin feels so clean and soft. I'm not sure if that's what normal body shampoos do for you but the ones I used before this just do what they're supposed to - clean and they don't make me feel so refreshed like this one does. I get so excited to take a shower now because I just loove how this shower gel makes my skin feel.
Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte Jelly Body Scrub (RM98)
This was the most expensive item I got in this purchase but also my least favourite. It's from their fall series, different from the other two products I got. This body scrub has a jelly formula which gently exfoliates your skin to give you softer and smoother skin. It comes in a tube containing 170g of jelly body scrub.
This scrub really smells like a mug of pumpkin latte with toasted marshmallows. It has a strong vanilla-ish scent too which is one thing I like about it. The smell has pretty good staying power but I always apply body cream after exfoliating to moisturise my skin so the scent just goes away after that.
I feel that this product comes in a very small tube for a heavy price tag and I don't like how I have to use a lot of product for it to lather and to scrub my whole body. This is definitely not an everyday scrub because you need to use so much of product each time, you might just finish the whole tube in short time. It does make me skin feel a little softer but I'm already using their shower gel which gives me super soft and smooth skin so I don't really feel much difference after using this scrub. It might feel different if you're not already using Bath & Body Works' shower gel.
Overall, the products I've purchased all smell amazing I mean, I spent a really long time smelling each product to find my favourites. They all do more than just what they're supposed to, other than moisturising, cleaning and exfoliating, they make you feel refreshed and smell so good. They make my skin feel so much smoother and softer than it was before I started using these products. I do feel that the jelly body scrub doesn't really exfoliate as well as I expected, but it does leave my skin a little softer. The other two products work amazing, they make my skin feel like baby's skin and I love them!
So is the price worth it? Well it really depends on what you're looking for. If you just want something that does the basic job, then you should just get cheaper brands from supermarkets or personal care stores. If you want your skin to feel luxuriously softer and smoother, and you wanna smell great, Bath & Body Works will work great for you and it is worth investing especially during promotions. They're much cheaper in the US so if you have any friends or relatives over there, you can get them to buy for you and try them out. I really wish the price here is the same as in the US, I would buy everything because they just smell so good :(
Vitamin B-12, or cobalamin, is a nutrient you need for good health. It's one of eight B vitamins that help the body convert the food you eat into glucose, which gives you energy. Vitamin B-12 has a number of additional functions.
